Kajal is UK Director at Change.org, the world’s largest online petition website with 200 million users worldwide and over 17 million in the UK. The platform has supported some of the biggest people powered campaigns in the UK – from Laura Coryton’s campaign to end the tampon tax to Richard Ratcliffe’s fight to free his wife Nazanin from prison in Iran. Kajal has worked in the campaigns and tech sector for over 10 years, is an advisor for the women in STEM group Ada’s List and founded the People of Colour in Campaigns initiative.

A2: Are charities getting left behind in the changing world of campaigning?
In this session we will challenge civil society actors to think about their campaigning strategies and whether they are keeping up with the current landscape. We will ask whether charities are successfully influencing change or whether they are being left behind by social movements and alternative forms of organising.
