NPC Ignites 2015—with its focus on challenging thinking + exploring cutting edge approaches—was a sell-out success.
Our morning keynote speaker Baroness Martha Lane Fox CBE drew on her successful career to explain ‘why digital changes everything’ for the sector. She called on the sector to ‘be bolder about thinking + working cross-sector’. She also said the UK can be a digital leader, but we must change how we deliver services + think about people with complex needs.
Our final speaker of the day, Julia Unwin, CEO of Joseph Rowntree Foundation + Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust, gave a whistle-stop tour of the sector’s origins, how far it has come + where it needs to head in the future.
Our 180-strong delegate list included more than 40 CEOs, 30-something directors and a few dozen trustees. Among them were the Chief Executive of Arthritis Research UK, the Chief Executive of BBC Children in Need, the Director of Quaker Social Action, the Director of Finance at Asthma UK, the Director of Innovation at Mencap, and the Fundraising Director at Peabody.
