Matt Hyde, The Scouts

Matt joined The Scouts in April 2013 as Chief Executive. 630k people are involved in Scouting in the UK, including 160k adult volunteers, making it the largest co-educational youth movement in the country. It has experienced membership growth every year for the past 13 years.

Before joining the Scouts, Matt was Chief Executive of the National Union of Students (NUS) for seven years, leading the organisation through a significant change programme.

As well as being a leader at his local Cub Pack, Matt is a Patron of UNLOCK (the charity for people with convictions) and a Trustee of youth social action charity Step Up to Serve. He was awarded an Honorary Fellowship from Queen Mary University of London in 2012.
