Peter Wheeler is Executive Vice President of The Nature Conservancy, a leading conservation organisation working around the world to protect ecologically important lands and waters for nature and people. Until Dec 2010, he was Head of Wholesale Banking, EMEA and Americas for Standard Chartered. Previously, Peter spent fifteen years with Goldman Sachs, initially in New York, then, from 1991, based in Hong Kong, where he established the firm’s Investment Banking business for Asia outside of Japan. He became a partner of the firm in 1994, and returned to the United Kingdom at the end of 1998.
Peter is Chairman of IPValue, a leading business services company that partners with major global companies to manage their intellectual property commercialisation activity. He is also a board member of Social Finance, and founder of Dasra Social Impact, a Mumbai-based project. He has served in the recent past on the boards of the Young Foundation, Virgin Unite and Charity Technology Trust.
Peter is one of NPC’s founding trustees and was Chair of the board from 2010 to 2012.
